Delete your Lingua account and data

Last updated 24 August 2026

You can remove everything Lingua holds about you. There are two ways, depending on whether you want the copy on your phone gone, our copy gone, or both.

1. Delete the data on your device

Uninstalling Lingua removes everything stored locally — your progress, streak and review schedule. To clear it without uninstalling, open Android Settings → Apps → Lingua → Storage → Clear storage.

This does not remove the backup copy on our servers. For that, use the request below.

2. Request deletion of our copy

Email zinmintoun@gmail.com with the subject Lingua account deletion request.

Include one of these so we can find your account:

We action requests within 30 days and reply to confirm when it is done.

What gets deleted

DataWhat happens
Your account identifierDeleted
Language pair, stage and daily goalDeleted
XP, streaks, hearts and per-skill progressDeleted
Spaced-repetition review scheduleDeleted
Display name and weekly score on the leaderboardDeleted
Google account details, if you signed inDeleted

Deletion is permanent. Progress cannot be restored afterwards, so if you only want to start the course again, resetting inside the app is the better option.

What is kept, and why

Deleting your account does not cancel your subscription. Cancel it separately in Google Play, or it will keep renewing.
